Cletus Colaco shifts with smooth transition to grow a startup of construction chemical as an Executive Director Market Development

It was the need of an hour when Mr Cletus Colaco moved from Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd to a Construction Chemical startup KABU WORLD based out of Mumbai after looking towards the trend in the market and the innovations presented by KABU felt promising to him with exponential growth among their respective sector.
Cletus Colaco started his career in 1988 as a sales representative in a company dealing plastic products, where he worked for around 5 years. Then he moved on to Bharat Pipes and Fittings in around 1993 where he got promoted as sales manager to handle the business of around 150 Cr. during 1997.
In 1998 he got an opportunity to work with MNC like Gulf Oil Lubricants Ltd as Regional Head for West and North region which would give his career a boost. Leading a team of 30 employees + 125 DSRs and manage one of the single largest regions with 6 company depot and 58 distributors contributing to 27% of the overall sales volumes. Since taking over this role he has grown the region by 22% in sales. He was later promoted as National GM – Market Development & Channel Development to expand the business across India. He was managing new market entry through in-depth understanding of trends, consumption behaviour and competitor analysis thus suggesting the best products that can be sold from the Gulf portfolio and also gathering the required market intelligence on competition pricing and activities affecting sales through interactions with key channel stakeholders of Gulf Oil Lubricants India ltd.
Looking at his diverse knowledge and experience since last 28+ years with Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd. he would be highly instrumental in developing an upcoming brand KABU WORLD to reach their milestones in coming future. At KABU WORLD he would be not only developing domestic and international market presence but also handholding the team with his mentorship in areas like designing strategies, designing new revenue models, developing channel partners and much more.
